Full Integration with LIS, HIS and EMR Systems
AegisPOC can be integrated fully with any Laboratory or Hospital Information System, Electronic Medical Record system, Clinical Information System or Patient Monitoring System. Our expert staff has created interfaces with virtually every vendor in the market today including, but not limited to:

Standard Interface Protocols Supported including HL7, POCT1-A & ASTM
Proprietary protocols are also supported.
LDS has developed very sophisticated interface development tools that allows us to meet the needs of customer when it comes to integrating diagnostic test data, patient information or test order information between instruments/devices, information management systems and LIS / HIS systems. AegisPOC also allows for multiple and simultaneous ADT, Orders or results interfaces allowing for maximum flexibility when multiple systems need to be interfaced to. Below is just a short list of the functionality which we can provide:
Admission, Discharge & Transfer Information (ADT)
ADT involves the management of virtually all patient related information. This includes Medical record numbers, patient ID's, visit numbers, names, admission/discharge date, patient transfer information, etc. An ADT interface can be of great value to a connectivity system as it allows for streamlined and potentially immediate and positive patient identification and matching with test results. An ADT interface is of paramount importance when the streamlining or automating of the test result to the patient's medical record workflow is desired.
POC or Result Order Processing (ROP)
This is an interface and process put in place to manage the handling of patient test results that have been received from POC devices without a test order or accession #. Once the result is released by AegisPOC to be sent to the LIS system, our interface engine capabilities allows us to process the result via an HL7 interface to the LIS where an order is created, the test is resulted and auto verified. In cases where automatic order creation and resulting is not possible by the LIS an HL7 or scripted order interface can be created. POC (ROP) interfaces are a very common function implemented when managing POC whole blood glucose testing.
Orders
An Orders Interface receives orders (with accession # and test) from an LIS / HIS system. Orders are available to the user to use in the processing of a patient test result (such as a blood gas test) or orders can be propagated to instruments or devices (provided the instrument / device is capable of receiving order information). Orders can also be automatically reconciled by AegisPOC by matching to an order or accession number received from the device or by matching to a test panel.
Results
Result processing interfaces allows for the automatic flow of patient test data to the LIS or HIS system. With AegisPOC's rules-based analysis of test results you can further streamline the process and in most cases this allows the resulting process with the LIS to be free of operator/user interaction, except in the case of an exception result.
Scripting
Scripting is described as the process of emulating keystrokes, that a user would type in on an LIS application, to create an order, look up patient information or enter and verify a result. This ability and process is normally implemented when an electronic data interface (eg: HL7 or ASTM) is not possible or when an electronic data interface (EDI) is cost prohibitive. LDS's interface engine capabilities allows for the use of scripting interfaces when necessary or it can be combined with an EDI interface for more effective and reliable data processing.
